Designer Plastics
The environmentally responsible production model allowed Femapri to conquer, in a short period of time, designer labels such as Osklen, Wöllner and Lenny, as well as the giant Petrobras. The reason for the success of that small factory from São Paulo was the production of 100% recyclable and atoxic PVC plastic packagings.
One year ago, the company was on the edge of bankruptcy. The entrepreneurs Marisa and Maurício Antônio de Souza balanced the finances and invested R$ 1 million to make the factory "clean", reducing costs of water and energy by more than 50%. In July, the plant doubled its capacity, starting to produce one million packagings a month. A portion is exported to Europe, used for wrapping Lenny´s products. Another portion goes to New York, with Victoria´s Secret lingeries. In the future, the idea is to ensure that the used packagings are returned from the consumer to the factory, intensifying the sustainable cycle.
